Motorcycle engine covers - plates

The crankcase cover arrived very quickly and when I opened it I was impressed by how good it looked: sturdy and well finished. A little heavier than I expected (4200 g) because the three support bridges that brings to anchor it to the chassis of the bike are steel and not aluminum 4 mm as the oil pan. The 14 screws it comes with are also heavy. It has many more anchorages and supports to the chassis than the original of my Yamaha Ténéré 700 extreme 2024, which I disassembled totally dented. When I mounted it, according to instructions, everything went well until I tried to thread the last three screws on the bridge where it is supported by the front. They did not thread because they did not fit the 3 holes of the cover with the 3 nuts of the bridge. After a lot of research, I realized that the oil pan did not reach its position because it was sticking with the support of the protection that the bike has on the exhaust (it is the new exhaust that Yamaha mounts to meet EURO 5). To solve this problem, I had to make a hole in the exhaust cover the size of the bracket (as shown in the photo). In my opinion, the skid plate should not even rest on the exhaust pipe because a hit on that side of the skid plate will always damage the exhaust against which it rests. In this case, it is not that it rests, it is that it overlaps it and that is why the hole has to be made.

Compatible with Heed Bunker fenders. The shipment arrived as agreed, good product, robust and with good finishes. It fits well to the bike but it stops with the exhaust pipe support where the small piece of the standard crankcase cover is anchored, with a little skill and patience it is just installed without problems, in my case I have not modified anything for installation.

Quality product, fits perfectly to the bike without any problem, easy to mount and very reliable. Finally a crankcase cover that really fits the chassis, not like the other brands that are attached to the same crankcase. To my taste it improves the aesthetics of the bike a lot. I will definitely trust Yakk products again.

Like all YAKK products, this engine protector is of the highest quality and exudes solidity. However, I couldn't fit it on my Africa Twin 1100, year 2023. It's not wide enough, so you have to force it in, but the right-hand side fixings didn't fit my bike.

Great cover! Decent workmanship. Thick sheet metal, nice welds. High quality paint. Everything fit perfectly. It looks very aesthetically pleasing. Armored and at the same time lightweight. I recommend ! If I needed another one - I would buy without hesitation.
